Micro projects

Micro-projects in Cambodia and Germany

Over the years we have been able to find small projects that we would like to support or provide if necessary.

  • Organic food from organic garbage, Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Planning and realization of a school garden with aquaponics (fish farming and vegetable cultivation), chicken husbandry and natural garden at the NGO “Together for Cambodia – TFC”.

On the grounds of TFC there is a school and a children’s center, where currently 40 children can grow up safely. In order to minimize the cost of food and to teach children about new ways of growing plants and livestock farming, together with TFC we have started the project “Children’s Garden”.

  • Extension of the favorite forest of KITA “Hasenland” in Frauenwald

The kindergarten “Hasenland” in Frauenwald offers a nature-bound concept in which the children spend at least 2 days / week in nature. The “favorite forest” was leased and includes learning stations on the topic of nature. These can also be used by all hikers and their children. We would like to extend the stations by the point forest / animal and nature protection for the project. Furthermore, trailers are needed for the little ones, as all children from the age of 2 participate in the project and it is difficult to let them walk the whole distance.

    Components of the project:
    – New wagon for easy transport even of the smallest
    – Extension of the “favorite forest” through another forest part
    – Refuge in the new forest
    – Sound wall for children
    – Signs of animals, plants and nature

The project volume is 10,000 euros. The requested funding amount is 8,000 euros, so there remains an own contribution of 2,000 euros, which we would like to contribute.

  • Patient kitchen for the National Pediatric Hospital
    in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

It’s done! The new patient kitchen for the surgical department of the National Children’s Hospital in Phnom Penh is finished and fully equipped. This will allow many patients and relatives to stay in hospital, which may not be possible without self-catering.

It is not always about donations, we want to solve problems. And we like to put it on hand.

Here we noticed that the patient / member kitchen in the National Children’s Hospital was hardly usable. So we helped the design, the realization and the completion and financed it including the equipment.

Many thanks to the G.U.T. Group for generous donation to fund the project and Team Delorean Time Machine ( https://facebook.com/Team.Delorean.Timemachine ) for the active support!

  • Critical need of laryngoscopes

Today an emergency message arrived from the National Children Hospital in Phnom Penh: “We are in critical need of this laryngoscopes to save many children’s lives. Could you please donate this to us? Ours are broken and we use this only one 20 years old instrument for 4 operating room every day .”

Of course we do our best and would like to bring 2 new sets with us to Cambodia  in March. These are urgently needed for future operations. For this we need about 650 €.  Any support is welcome! Please help us!

    What is a laryngoscope?
Laryngoscopy is endoscopy of the larynx, a part of the throat. It is a medical procedure that is used to obtain a view, for example, of the vocal folds and the glottis. Laryngoscopy may be performed to facilitate tracheal intubation during general anaesthesia or cardiopulmonary resuscitation or for surgical procedures on the larynx or other parts of the upper tracheobronchial tree. • Study sponsorship for Sombo Lim in Cambodia

Lim is a 21-year-old boy from a fringe district of Phnom Penh. He comes from a poor parental home and lives with his three siblings with his parents.
Lim graduated from high school with good performances and has taught children in English for 3 years.
His greatest wish was to study civil engineering. Unfortunately, his parents could not finance a study because they themselves live at the minimum of existence. They keep themselves by selling fruit and food over water, the father tries to support the family as a driver of a motorbike taxi. But the money is just enough to survive.

For Sombo, we have found godparents who have supported his dream since 2013. In the year 2018, Sombo will take his degree as a civil engineer (BA).

If you are also interested in sponsorships, please contact us.
We will be happy to answer your questions in a conversation.

  • What we do locally

    • Acquisition of tuition fees
    • Transfer of travel costs
    • Taking over the study material
  • Development of Education Website

In Cambodia, the creation of a positive learning culture for historical and social reasons is a challenge. The Khmer Rouge regime of 1975-79 has notoriously murdered most educators, scholars, writers, and destroyed Khmer literature and other learning resources.
Today, there are many schools and vocational training centres throughout the country, the vast majority of which are provided free of charge or at low cost by local and international non-governmental organisations (NGOs). However, access to these can have several obstacles that families and children have to overcome. These are mainly financial barriers. They also exist in connection with the knowledge that whether and where these exist within the local communities and the surrounding areas at all.
As a result, there are relatively good opportunities to gain access to education and be trained in a skill or trade for a very low price or free of charge. However, it is necessary to know where they are, what services are offered and what costs may be incurred. This is difficult to research at the moment, or Almost impossible for Cambodians to find.
This project will list all this information for free English schools, free NGO schools and public schools on an internet platform free of charge and present them in an online map clearly.
